The Virginia Department of Social Services is seeking to improve the medical, mental health, and dental care of children in foster care. The Virginia Department of Social Services has implemented the rate structuring tool for private provider use of enhanced maintenance payments to foster parents.  For more information from VDSS on this activity please click on this link:

The Foster Care Code of Ethics and Mutual Responsibility Agreement has been implemented statewide. Since July 2009, all foster parents are now entitled to received this agreement and a financial agreement which identifies the amount and the DATEƂ that foster parents will receive their maintenance checks.

Would you like your agency to provide you with a placement authorization card for your wallet/purse? Click on this link (Placement Agreement Authorization Card.doc)  for a sample card to take to your agency. It is a Word document and can be modified to reflect the unique procedure at your agency. The card has a front and back.
