Join CHSVA and fellow adoptive families for parent-led, social meet-ups that will allow families to build relationships within a network of adoptive parents and youth, share experiences, and grow your support systems. These meet-ups are open to any adoptive family or family in the process of pursuing adoption. This includes:

  •   Infant Adoptions

  •   Foster Care Adoptions

  •   Kinship/Relative Adoptions

    Attendance is free, please contact your local staff facilitator to get registered!

Foster Care Information Session – Tidewater

There are nearly 900 children in foster care in the Tidewater community that are in need of a home. Attend our information session to learn more about how you can help by becoming a foster parent. Our information session requires no commitment. During our time together we'll provide more details about the children and teens we serve, as well as the extensive training and comprehensive support UMFS provides along the way.

Fredericksburg Kid's Club - Air & Space Museum

CHS welcomes adoptive and pre-adoptive children and teens ages 6-18 to join us and other adoptive youth at our Spring Break Kid’s Club taking place on April 23, 2019.

Attendees will enjoy an interactive day of adventure at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, Virginia. We will get to see real flight craft, including the Space Shuttle Discovery, and participate in hands on science!

The cost for the entire day is $20 per attendee.

Foster Care Open House

Come to our Open house to start the conversation. This Open House will provide information about foster care, our agency and answer any questions you may have about fostering and adoption. 2019 Stronger Together Peer Support Groups

Formed Families Forward hosts Stronger Together, peer support groups for teens and young adults ages 14-22, and for parents and caregivers. We believe that youth and young adults really are stronger when they share their experiences and work together to improve their own lives and the systems that exist to help youth and families.
