In Foster Care, "normalcy" means having "normal" life experiences that are important parts of growing up, like going to sleepovers, learning to drive, having a job, and spending time with friends. It has not been the norm in the past, so join us for a discussion about what foster care normalcy means to YOU - as a public or private agency professional, foster parent, youth or alumni of foster care, congregate care provider, or community partner.

Want to learn more about Normalcy in Foster Care?  Participants are encouraged to learn more about Normalcy before the event. For more information or to access a short online course on Normalcy in VA, go to http://dss.virginia.gov/family/fc/index.cgi and scroll to the bottom for Normalcy.

Who should come? Current or former youth in foster care, foster parents, local department of social services staff, licensed child placing agency staff, and interested community partners and stakeholders.

Light refreshments will be provided, child care is not available.
