Join Formed Families Forward to fill your toolbox with strategies for navigating the world of special education and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).  Kelly Henderson, Ph. D, Executive Director of Formed Families Forward will review early intervention approaches common to schools and special education eligibility processes. She will offer tips and ideas for leveraging the IEP to ensure academic and behavioral success for children with special needs. Families are encouraged to bring education paperwork to the training as we will set aside time for a problem-solving discussion. Light refreshments served.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic and long-lasting disorder in which a child or teen has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts and behaviors that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over. The thoughts are called obsessions. The behaviors are called compulsions. In the United States, about 1 in 100 children have OCD.

Dr. Lisa Bateman, Neuroscience Inc., will highlight
• Signs of OCD that can be identified by parents and teachers
• Causes and identification of OCD
• Treatment options for OCD
• Parents’ role in addressing OCD
